Presenting....Mademoiselle Cosette

Photobucket

Had a nice visit with Kelley and Allen last week, but the star of the show was my grandpuppy, Cosette. After she made an inspection of the apartment, she got comfortable.

Photobucket

She loooooooooooooves her Uncle Jay!

Photobucket

She perked up when Kelley, Allen and Jay started stirring around. "Where're we going? To the park? Wanna chase birds? Will there be cheese?

Photobucket

Alas, they left her alone. And, when she realized there was no one here but granny.........

Photobucket

She prostrated herself in front of the door. She knows that old lady probably won't take her for a long walk, and the sweet old thing doesn't seem to know how to play throw the ball or tug o' war. Sigh.

Finally, good old Uncle Jay comes home. Now, we'll have some fun!

Photobucket

Now, this is what I call fun! Uncle Jay throws my squeaky toy, and I catch it and kill it! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Of course, I'll probably get in trouble when my humans get home, but it was worth it.

She's such a character.

Just Shut Up

Photobucket

Evidently, we can add my name to the list of people from whom Sarah Palin won't take advice. The first thing she did upon her arrival in Alaska was to go to office and start talking to the media. And, talking, and talking, and talking, and she hasn't stopped.

She will give an interview to Matt Lauer of the Today Show, tomorrow, then it's Larry King Live Wednesday night, and undoubtedly Fox News will feature her as often as she is willing, starting with an interview with Greta Van Sustern.

After a long and difficult presidential campaign, there is only one question left unanswered. What kind of puppy will Sasha and Malia get?

Since they need to find a hypoo-allergenic breen, might I suggest a PBGV (Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen)? This French breed (a scent hound) is still a bit rare in the United States. However, according to the American Kennel Club website, they have gained enough popularity that there are "rescue" PBGVs to be had.

I am allergic to most dogs and all cats, and have had no problem with Kell's PBGV. Cosette is energetic, curious, funny and loveable, if a bit stubborn. She is a small dog with a great big hound-like bark, which, unfortunately, makes people crack up, instead of being afraid of her.

Stay Tuned.

Thanksgiving Report (burp 'scuse me)

Isn't she cute? This is my new grandpuppy, Cosette. Kell and Al surprised us with her when we drove up on Saturday before Thanksgiving. She entertained us all week. She is a three year old PBGV (Petit Bassett Griffon Vendeen), house trained and completely at home with Kell and Al, even though they have only had her for a week. In fact, she already has them trained.

She definitely has a stubborn streak, though, and she and Kell threw down a few times while we were there. She hasn't figured out, yet, that she has met her match in Kell.

We had a fine time in Omaha. Kell cooked another scrumptious Thanksgiving dinner. She, Al, Jay and Judy were in and out all week, while I waved bye-bye and read my book, most of the time.

It snowed on Tuesday (or, was it Wednesday?), about 2 inches, but the streets never were slick. Sure was purty! Cosette loved the cold weather and snow. She didn't love having her feet and nose dried off when she came back in, but that's the price you pay.

By the way, nobody in our household got up to go shopping at 4 a.m. the day after Thanksgiving. We all have better sense than that. Besides, this is going to be a gift certificate, gift card Christmas, which takes some of the stress out of the season.
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, too! It's good to be back.
