Woman Within's Customer Non-Service

I have bought a lot of clothes from Woman Within (formerly known as Lane Bryant) over the years, so I feel qualified to comment on their Customer Service. It stinks!

After years, nay decades, of buying various garments on line, with the same credit card, all of a sudden, they stopped accepting it, claiming my security code number is wrong. The number is correct, they are the ones who are wrong. At first, I e-mailed them, asking that they correct their information. I got a polite return e-mail thanking me for contacting them, and giving me complete runaround. So, next time I called in my order, using the same credit card and it went through just fine. They don't ask for the security code when you order by phone, for some reason.

A few months later, I tried ordering on line again, and again they refused my credit card. So I called the number for Customer Service, and they gave me to understand that it must be the fault of my bank. No, no, no. I explained that I had already contacted my credit card company, and they assured me that my code number was correct.

So, I thought I'd just get a Woman Within credit card, so they couldn't blame anyone else if it was refused. I applied for the card along with an order, and my card was approved and the order was charged to it. But, they didn't tell me what my account number was. When I e-mailed them, telling them that I had received neither the card nor the account number, they sent me to a site that in turn sent me back to the Woman Within Customer Service site. Another complete circle.

But, they certainly want me to buy something from them. I get daily e-mails with offers of 20,30,40% off items that I can only buy online, not that I'm ready to buy anything right now.

I have tried repeatedly to unsubscribe to their e-mails. I keep getting a reply that it will take about 10 days for them to stop sending the annoying e-mails. It has been three months, now, and I'm still getting the sales messages. I have asked several times for them to stop sending them. Nothing ever happens.

So, yesterday, I marked them as spam. They can keep sending them until the world looks level, and I won't have to see them.

But, I think they have the worst, most user-unfriendly Customer Service I have ever encountered. They can take their credit card and stuff it, too.

Stay tuned.

Guess they really don't need business. With all the people looking for work you would think they could find pleasant people.
Send them to spam, they deserve it.

It is a sad commentary on our "service economy" that it is most unusual when we receive good service. I have always appreciated good service....it is now so rare that it is surprising when it happens.

It is good that you've written about it here. You may get some satisfaction. The last 2 times I complained on-line about customer service, I got quick restitution!

It's amazing how the ridiculous red-tape mess takes forever to get corrected....sometimes never; but they certainly have no problem sending all those incessant and annoying e-mails FOREVER don't they? I just hate all that stuff. Good for you Betty. Customer service with many of these kind of companies are much the same. ~Joy

Yep. Blair has similar garments. They ought to be glad you would shop with them as more and more persons are getting scared of using cards of any kind on line.

Sometimes I use PayPal but I've had a little trouble with them.

This is as bad as my ordeal with a computer from BestBuy and the Geek Squad. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST and COST is key word.

I'm surprised they haven't done something. If you're not the only one complaining you'd think they'd get the picture.

I guess the only thing you can do is call them and tell them they stink, that you will never buy from them again and that they can shove their credit card up their butt.

have you seen the spot on TV where some one is calling a place for coupon refund and this dirty hair breaded man answers their call, says his name is susan , can't speak english well and they get the run around any way he probably is working for your clothing company now.

To answer the one poster, the Woman Within card is only for use for their site or their sister sites like OneStopPlus, Jessica London and some others. It is not a Visa or regular credit card.

At least in my experience.
