I wonder if anybody actually understands the idea behind the stimulus bills. The not-so-loyal opposition has been so busy muddying the water, that most people don't know what to think.
I was talking to a friend this afternoon and I suddenly realized that even she didn't know what the stimulus is all about. Here's the way it went:
Her: I just found out that if I buy a new air conditioning and heating unit this year, I can get a big rebate.
Me: Yep. You sure can.
Her: Well, I think I will, since I'm going to have to replace them soon, anyway. And, this year, I can get a $500 rebate.
Me: Uh huh.
Her: And, since the government is going to give me $500 for something I have to do anyway, I think I'll just take the money and buy something.
Me: So, the stimulus is working.
Her: Huh?

I doubt if half of the people even know what the word stimulus means, much less how it helps the economy. My head aches from trying to explain things to people. Sigh!
Funny...too true, though.
Geez I got it all wrong ...I bought solar shades to make my air conditioner last longer. And I am still trying to find out if the solar shades qualify for a tax credit.
Boy am I dumb!!
