Consider the Sneeze

PhotobucketI hab a code id by dose. It's my annual change-of-season-from-summer-to-fall cold. No big deal, except that I feel rotten.

Yesterday, I slept almost all day. That's the way I deal with anything that makes me feel under the weather. Come to think of it, that's the way I deal with problems I don't want to face, people I don't want to see, days when there's nothing on tv, days when there's nothing to read, days when I don't want to go out and days when I just want to take a nap in general.

Normally, I can't sneeze, even when I desperately need and want to. I make all the sneezy preliminary sounds, the Aaah, aaah, aaah sounds. But, at the critical point where I should be able to emit a resounding CHOOOO, nothing happens. I've always been amused by people who have wimpy little sneezes. You know the ones where they take a deep breath or two, then put an index finger against the nose and go, "e-snew!" Hardly any sound at all. That can't be a satisfying sneeze. But, it's probably a lot better than no sneeze at all. However, when I have a cold, well, I can bring the house down with my sneezes. It's the one good thing I have found about having a cold.

I don't suffer in silence when I have a cold. Not even when I want to. When I'm not moaning and groaning, I'm still making noise. Besides my explosive sneezes and coughing spells, my ears fill up and then SNAP open and I usually have some bronchial problems, which cause a cacophony of wheezes, twitters, gasps and whistles. I'm a regular one-man-band, but not in a musical way.

Needless to say, I really don't feel like blogging, so I'll be back in a few days, when I'm feeling better. My dad used to say it takes a week to get over a cold, but if you treat it, it'll only take seven days. If he was right, I'll be back in four or five days.

Stay tuned.

Me too! I seldom have a cold. The last time I was truly sick was three years ago. I do have a lot of allergies. In fact all fall my nose will drip and my voice will nearly go away. My family says it is their vacation..spring and fall...my favorite seasons. I love them but they hate me.

Ooooooh….now I see it. It took me a while to figure out the picture. I thought you had gone modernistic on us. You know - like what’s a liberal hillbilly doing with modern art on their blog?

Oh well, from one hillbilly to another, I hope you don’t have that “Pig Flu” crap! :)

I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Sleep for 3 days and come back here!

I am hoping that by now you are feeling much better. When I have a cold coming on I take a hot Port before bedtime and it sends me to sleep.

Your sneezes sound like mind; through the rafters. All your other symptoms mimic mine. I rarely escape with a 7-day cold but add asthma, bronchitis and occasional pneumonia. Don't wish that on anyone.

I'm a bit like that. About 6 weeks before each season starts, my sinuses clog, my nose runs, I sneeze, my eyes get watery, and my throat becomes really sore overnight. That's how it starts, so I know what's coming.

I never get colds...well, hardly ever; so I'm sending you lots of ((((healing hugs)))))) Betty. Sleep well, drink those liquids, and get those, keep the kleenex close by...and get those friggin' sneezes out. Shhh, sleepy time. See 'ya later..... ~Joy

Aww, I am so sorry your are sick. Let those sneezes rip. I knew a guy who collapsed his lung suppressing a sneeze.
Baby yourself. At least you get to feed a cold--or is that starve a cold. Oh heck, feed it anyway and get well soon.

So sorry you have one of those nasty drippy coughy sneezy colds. My sneezes would take the roof off of the house. In public I really get attention when I let one go.

Stay warm, rest and don't think about blogging until you are well.

This post sounds so contaminated, I think I should wash my hands.

BTW The Doctors- TV- said not to hold in sneezes. Might burst an eardrum & other bad things, of which I forget.
