To Tweet Or Not To Tweet

I'm all a-twitter. That is to say, I'm on Twitter. I may be technologically challenged, but that doesn't mean I'm not curious about the latest trends. So, Jay got me all set up on Twitter and it's kind of, um, interesting. Yeah, that's the ticket! As yet, I'm not exactly addicted, but I can see that it could be mildly amusing.

When Jay said tweets could only be 140 characters long, I somehow heard, "words" and thought, "I can tell everything I know in 140 words." Then, it sunk in - CHARACTERS. Oh.

And, I'm pretty sure I won't be bothering with "Twibes". But, you never know. I've learned not to make sweeping comments starting with the phrase "I'll never......"

Tweeting won't interfere with blog posting or reading and commenting. I enjoy my blogbuddies too much to desert you. On the other hand, if any of you are also tweeting, let me know and I'll follow you there, too.

I think Twitter and Facebook will eventually be the downfall of personal blogs.

As you know, blogging isn't easy. But Facebook and Twitter are.

So far, I am unimpressed with Twitter. It's either a personal observance or an anonymous link.

Have fun, nothing to lose except some time!

Arrrgh! A friend just convinced me to join Facebook so I could keep up with her. I'm still resisting twitter! Haven't the time for either!

Hubby and I were talking about Twitter just this afternoon and I told him I need to check it out... Maybe tomorrow...
I'm on facebook but mostly so I can live chat with my kids. I like the blogs and am really glad to hear you aren't going to abandon your blog!

My grandkids got me to sign up in Facebook, but I know nothing about Twitter. I asked Google to explain it. Got gilch, nada.

I'm bikehikebabe & I have a gravatar, but I don't know what HTML tags are. Suppose Google will help?

I'm the ONLY person I know who said "never" to a cell phone and so far, I still don't have one. I hate 'em. I probably won't tweet, either......

So now I blog...and Facebook...and Twitter. And my life still doesn't seem any more interesting than when I did none of these! :~)

Going Like Sixty: I'm kinda liking Twitter right now. We'll see how it goes. I love blogging and reading others, though, so I hope Twitter and Facebook don't ruin things. In any case, all I have is time. lol

Dogwalk Musings: I have resisted Facebook so far. Can't do everything!

Arkansas Patti: Twitter seems like fun. But, that may just be first impression, and something new to play with.

Kenju: Come on in. You may like it.

Deanna: I might not have even tried it if it weren't for my son. He drags me into the 21st Century occasionally.

Kell: You might like Twitter. Who knows?

Hi, Frances: Welcome to my blog. I'm a bit lax about posting - have to wait for inspiration, you know. lol But I try to post a couple of times a week - in a good week.

Hi, Bikehikebabe: Welcome. We're even - I don't know what a gravatar is. lol

Ima Wizer: You don't need a cell phone to Twitter. You can Tweet on your computer.

Joan: I know what you mean. My life is so uninteresting that I have considered just making stuff up so I can keep blogging.

I joined Facebook and haven't been back since. I guess my blog keeps me too busy to find out what's going on in the other blog-spheres.

I am not about to add another thing to read now. I can't keep up with my housework now because I am so busy clicking on my keyboard. Arrrgh! (That reminds me - my dryer turned off a long time ago. Must go fold those clothes.) Bye!

I can;t be bothered to twitter. I don't know what I am doing half the time and I'm suppose to report it to thousands of people.

Me-bikehikebabe-- A gravatar is your picture that comes up with your comment. Mine doesn't because I need a HTML what-ever-that-is.

I'm not a fan of Twitter and consider it a further dumbing-down of effective communications. But then, I'm old and enjoy narratives, well-constructed sentences and the turn of a phrase. 140 characters? Not happening with me (sigh). I will follow your comments about your twitter experiences, however.

According to a press release by Reuters today with regard to Twitter, most Twitterers end up being Quitterers! Only about 30% who sign up continue to twitter after the new wears off. FaceBook and MySpace on the other hand, have retention rates of around 70%.

I'm not into the Twitter, though I somehow have an account. I do love me some Facebook, and am sure it has taken a toll on my blog posting, which has slowed considerably. (What, are those crickets I hear?) I miss the blogging and don't understand why Facebook would replace it, because I don't write the same kinds of things on Facebook. I think it's a product of a finite amount of available time and Facebook being fairly mindless, while blogging requires thought (at least for a slow person like me).
