It's a Conspiracy

Some days I just hate my computer. This was one of them. Most of the time, I just cruise along, typing away, entering, backspacing, paging up, paging down, you know, computing! Then some days, Google and Microsoft and Yahoo get together, behind my back, and decide to try and drive me crazy. HAhahahaha! Better machines than you have defeated me! One time a card sorter went berserk after I gave it a command and started spitting cards all over the room. But, did I cave in? I did not. I went home.

After that day, my boss transferred me to the University farm, where there wasn't anything I could break. I spent my days feeding beef livers into a blender so my boss could do tests on them. My boss knew that a good employer finds the task that fits the intellect of the employee, thus insuring that the employee doesn't fail.

But, I digress.

So, there I was yesterday, reading blogs on Google Reader, happy as a clam, when I saw a message at the top of the screen saying, "You arent signed in to Google Reader Sign In". I was pretty sure this message was bogus, because I was, well, IN Google Reader, reading blogs. However, I was also pretty sure that the computer was smarter than I was, so I clicked on "Sign In" and the sign in box came up and I entered my e-mail and password and clicked the "Remember me" box. Then, I went back to Google Reader and called up another blog, and there, at the top of the page, was that dratted message again!

Well, I just got out of Google Reader and started over. I went to my bookmarks, clicked on blogs, and THEY WEREN'T THERE! I clicked on "Refresh". Sometimes that works. But, no. Nothing helped.

Naturally, I did what I always do when I don't know what else to do. I hollered for Jay. I told him that all my blogs were gone, except strangely enough, my own. Go figure. I said some pretty harsh things about Google, Yahoo, Microsoft and threw in a few ugly thoughts about Bill Gates and his parentage.

I was just getting on a roll when Jay called to me, "Mom? Did you know that you typed in the wrong e-mail address?"

Never mind.

Stay tuned.

Does that mean that Bill Gates probably is legitimate?
Too funny and boy have I been there. Good thing you have Jay to show you the error of your ways.

Betty,

You really brought up a funny memory when you said "Never Mind".

Do you remember Gilda Radner playing the slightly deaf and mostly daft Emily Litella on Saturday Night Live?

She would go on a tirade against Endangered Feces or busting children or Soviet Jewry. When told what was REALLY happening, Miss Litella would look at the audience and say ,"Never Mind"

So, thanks for the memory and the laugh....

Kay: Unfortunately, I do that far too often these days. lol

Patti: Probably.

Kenju: I'll probably be able to do something like it again.

Looking to the Stars: I don't know what I'd do without Jay to show me the error of my ways.

Nancy: I remember very well. She was so funny.

Betty, this is the funniest post I have read in I don't know when. I laughed so hard I nearly cried.

Anyone who has a computer can identify with everything you said. Lucky you to have Jay.

Google must be wanting to drive us crazy because for days I have to enter my Google/Blogger identity in.

Darlene: I have been having to enter my Google/Blogger identity, too. Grrrrrrr.

Ooops! Operator Errors are so embarassing and, like you, when they occur, I prefer to blame it on Bill Gates and all programmers, because after all, they deserve it. Did you save that blender from the University? Would be fun to just chunk the whole malfunctioning computer in and grind it to little bitty pieces. Think of therapudic value!

Tincanman: Just picturing it whirling around in the blender makes me feel better.
