Just A Note

Not much to say today. Looks as though Bernie Madoff will spend the rest of his life behind bars. That's not long enough.

And, I have a feeling his whiny wife is going to have to learn to live on a lot less, just like the rest of us. She had to know what was going on all that time. She worked in his office with him.

I smell a rat. You've noticed, I'm sure, that the stock market has rallied and made big gains for the last three days, just because Citibank says it is out of trouble.

I won't be surprised if, a few months from now (maybe VERY few months), they announce that they made a mistake, so sorry, and they haven't recovered after all. Then, stocks will plummet again.

Can you say "manipulation", boys and girls?

Louisiana Senator David (dry diaper) Vitter, threw a snit fit because he was late for his flight out of Washington. He even tried to open the secured gate, setting off all kinds of alarms. This will be investigated, no doubt, since it is a violation of Federal Law.

The man is a constant source of amusement.

That's it for today.

Stay tuned.

I fear you are right about the banks, but BOA announced they were doing well too. I still hope!

Don't you just love those people who are convinced they are "special".
So glad the Big BM will get his due. I was afraid he would somehow barter his way out. Having a bit more faith in the system.Mow if they will really investigate Mrs. BM.....

How Bernie Madoff could get away with all he did is a mystery. He deserves to spend the rest of his life in jail. I just wonder where the money went and who else was involved. I doubt if we will ever know the true story on this one.

It's nice that justice finally triumphed, but many years too late. The warning about his Ponzi scheme was given many years ago. Why wasn't there an investigation then? The answer might be that others wanted this to go on.

I hope that justice will also catch up with Cheney and his cohorts. I read today that Seymore Hirsh said Cheney had a secret assassination team that reported only to him. Neither the CIA or Pentagon knew about it. It was made up of the best and brightest of our military.

You seem to think that some manipulation is going on in the stock market. You are probably most certainly correct....Isn't that a great sentence?

Anyway, if it is being manipulated perhaps the conniving is in my favor. How will I ever know?

I used to go to the horse races with a friend who insisted every race was "Fixed". So? I used to play the horse who had a name I liked or I would bet my address in the Trifecta. Now, if the race was indeed fixed, maybe my horse was the one selected to win...I'll never know.

Same with stocks. If I own 100 shares of Allied Buggy Whips and if the market is being manipulated to favor ABW, I win along with the schemers, don't I?

To tell you the truth, I don't really believe any of the above but just thought I would like to get other's reaction to the theory.

Now you just know I meant BETTY....

Can Bernie go away for the rest of his life...AND the rest of OUR lives too? Just wondering.

Queen Size Funny Bone: I agree.

kenju: Time will tell.

Arkansas Patti: Yep. Mrs. M's next.

Maria: He had plenty of help from the SEC ignoring the warnings.

Nancy: If you have investments, obviously you will benefit from manipulation - until the next downturn, which will inevitably follow. Batty vs Betty - actually, most days, Batty is probably closer. lol

Cazzie: From newspaper accounts of his sex scandal, he'd probably enjoy it. (Oooo, naughty me.)

Joy: I certainly hope so.
