It's Over, At Last

I'm glad Christmas is finally over, although it was definitely almost stress-free. We just kept it simple and had a nice, quiet day. I liked my presents and I hope the kids liked theirs. They seemed to. In years gone by, I have looked over my purchases in the morning on Christmas Eve and thought, "I need to get everyone one more thing." Which, meant that I went to the mall or Walmart on the afternoon on Christmas Eve, with all the other guilt-ridden parents who decided they had not been generous enough. I finally got over that feeling, and things have been much better since then.

We'll take down the decorations in a day or so, and everything will return to normal - that is to say, boring.

I am going to take the rest of this week off, but I'll be reading and commenting on your blogs. So, don't talk about me while I'm gone.

See you next week.

Happy New Year to you all!

You know, until last year I was the same, thinking the kids needed one more thing. Now, I know they don't NEED anything, except more huggs and kisses and praise.... and so I won't go to the busy shops any more :)
Have a great break, and see you in 2009 :)

May the coming year be the best one you have ever had, Betty. I hope it makes your fondest wishes come true. You deserve the best.

I'm glad it's over, too. The anticipation is great--but stressful. The actual days can be either chaotic or really fun. But the aftermath is messy and confusing. I'm usually ready to get back to real life. Glad someone else thinks like I do.

I didn't anticipate or stress too much this year. I bought gifts only for the grandchildren (3) and since they all live out of town, had a very quiet day with some friends. It was wonderful. Happy New Year to you.

Happy New Year to you too.

We took our tree down this past Monday. I enjoyed it but I am always happy to see it go.

Cheers.

This Christmas thing has gotten easier as I have gotten older. I didn't even feel the "let down" this year. We took the tree down and boxed up Christmas in no time at all, and tomorrow we are back to work. Boy. That was quick.

Hey, how about Bill Richardson? I'm sorry to hear that.

Happy New Year, Betty.
