Nuthin' On My Mind

(With apologies to Willie Nelson)

Maybe I didn't take time
To think up another blog.
Maybe I was simply lazy
Or perhaps I'm in a fog.

Maybe my old brain is made of mush ,
Or the words I cannot find,
"Cause there's nuthin' on my mind.....
There is nuthin' on my mind.

Telllllll me, tell me that you think I will revive
Giiiiiive me, give me one more chance to prove I can survive,
I promise I'll survive.

Maybe later I'll be better
Than I was the day before.
Mem'ries will come back and haunt me
If I open up the door.

Or, perhaps this well has run its course
No more stories can unwind
"Cause there's nuthin' on my mind......
There is nuthin' on my mind.

OK, ok. I'll stop torturing you. I just can't think of anything to say today, and now I have a case of the sillies. Don't tell me you never have days like this.

I'll try to do better tomorrow. In the meantime, hum along.

I have days like this all the time! I often wonder what on earth to write about, but I'm scared that if I take too much of a break, I won't start again! Cute poem!

I have plenty of days like that Betty. But, for nothing on your mind....you came up with something pretty great. I love it. You are a creative and funny lady....and I love that too.

Ditto Joy's comment. I got a kick out of this - you always manage to come up with even the best "nothing"

Betty,

How clever your lyrics are! I hummed all the way through your song. It was great.

So... You're going to sing to us each time you run out of things to post? Sweet! Can you do something jazzy next time? ;)

Fabulous! Although I didn't quite know the tune (if it was from a Willie Nelson album) but I made up my own as I was reading!

HURRAH FOR THE SILLIES.....! lol

Betty, I like you am a little bogged down in blogging ...nothing seems important. I enjoy stopping by your place to see what you are up to. I will be at Harrison tomorrow. Sister Fleta having a surgery there. I will watch the wayside for old dogs...wondering if any of them are...YOU!

Superb! When I got nothin, nothin gets posted. You have raised the bar once again!

See, you can't say you don't have anything then come up with a totally creative post. Doesn't work that way. You get no sympathy from me!

It's slow down my way too. If you drop by you'll see how I stretched for a photo to post.

now that was an impressive and tuneful nothing, sugar! :)

Funny that you should write that Betty, for I have a little poem 'in draft' for a time when I am stuck for an idea. I think that I may have to publish it soon. Don't expect it to be up to your standard.
