Ansonia made many, many clocks like this in various colors, including Navy Blue. This one didn't go with anything I owned, so I ended up decorating my living room around it.

Glad you posted a photo of the clock. Believe it or not, I was wondering if it was an Ansonia or not. When you said it was an “ugly magenta” it was the first clock to hit me since the color really is magenta in my opinion. One just sold on e-bay similar to yours, but not identical. I have one of the “blue” ones that belonged to my grandmother. I was going to post a photo of mine on my blog but haven’s gotten around to it. I have been doing a little research on them and have found some selling for as much as $2500. That particular one however was Bon China and not porcelain. Guess it is in the eye of the beholder but I think these clocks are really pretty and unique.
Alan, it is pretty. I just don't care for the color. And, if I thought I could get $2500 for it, I'd take it.
Think of the redecorating you could do with $2500 bucks!
I'm sorry but... The clock scares me. Maybe it's the color.
Or MAYBE it's that every clock I own is plastic and hangs on a wall.
That clock is fabulous. I think it would be one of those treasures I grab if the house were on fire.
