This Time Next Year by Liz Hinds

If you're in the mood for something funny to read, may I recommend "This Time Next Year" by Liz Hinds?  I bought the book from Amazon.com for the princely sum of $4.54 and worth it at any price.

It is a diary of 50-year-old recent divorcee Aliss (Alison Turner) and chronicles the year following her divorce and her new life as a single woman of a certain age.

She has a job and two college-age children, Chloe and Adam who are pursuing their college careers, leaving Aliss with an empty nest as well as an empty bed and no prospects for filling said bed.  Her two good friends, Bev and Pippa, are determined to find her a man, and they're not too particular. They are joined by Aliss's mother and her father, who is a bystander and onlooker.

I found the book through a blog whose name and author I can't remember and can't find again to save my life.   I do want to thank that person, though, so if she is reading this, please accept my apologies and my thanks for the recommendation.  The next time I come across her blog, I'll thank her there, too.

This book made ma laugh out loud. It's the first time that has happened in a while.

May have been me, Betty. Liz was one of my first blog readers as we shared a love of dogs. I just finished the book today and won't spoil it for anyone, but I giggled and laughed almost all the way through it. It is an easy funny read from the wardrobe makeover, to all the well meaning friends; suggestions for her to get a new life. She lives in Wales. I gave her 5 stars and do encourage everyone to give it a read. May post a short review. U am so involved in cardiac rehab I have little time to blog right now. Things are OK==just busy and lots of medical appointments.
