Heads Are Exploding All Over the Country

If you are a Republican and you are not embarrassed by fellow members of your party, shame on you, and shame on them.

You didn't really believe the Supreme Court would rule the entire Healthcare Act unconstitutional, did you?  Talk about throwing the country into chaos!

Justice Roberts is taking a lot of undeserved heat from Republicans.  Apparently, he is one of very few Republicans who has the ability to see beyond the end of his nose, beyond his party's ironclad ideology and the courage to stand up for what is right for the American People.

Politicians from both parties are always prone to hyperbole, but the Republicans are outdoing themselves this time. They can't seem to exaggerate enough in their outrage at what they call "Obamacare" and now, they are concentrating all their vitriol on a Supreme Court Justice, who must be thinking , "Wow. They really DO eat their young, don't they? Wonder what they'll do the next time I get another crack at Citizens United?  Maybe I'll see how many more heads will explode if I rule the way I should have in the first place, and vote to overturn that?"

And, honestly, if you were Mitt Romney, would you go around saying if you win the election, you will repeal Obomneycare, er I mean Obamacare, on day one.  In the first place, he won't have the power to unilaterally repeal anything, much as he might want to be crowned King of America.  And, after the Republicans in the House get through making asses of themselves, trying to repeal the law, only to have it defeated by the Senate, before the election, who knows what will happen after that?

It's going to be a long, hot summer.

Stay tuned.

The wheels will hit the road when they sort how to implement many parts of the bill. A lot of people don't realize many parts are already in play. Too many people don't want to admit parts of the bill are good, some parts not so good, but Roberts was right. It isn't the Courts job to decide on whether or not it's good legislation, but rather if it does or doesn't meet Constitutional criteria. Thumbs up to Roberts.

You know of course even that will be argued!

You're right, Mari. The law itself will probably be modified in many ways, over time. Most legislation of this importance usually is. But, you have to start somewhere.

You are so right...it's going to be a looong election season. And, yes, start somewhere. I don't understand MR's take on this at all. Shouldn't he almost be taking credit for the health care law?

What amazes me is lots of folks who say 'no insurance' have government insurance. I guess it's 'insurance for me but God forbid insurance for you'.

I respect Roberts so much more than before. If he had ruled otherwise...the supreme court would be a political body is my belief. He saved the court with his decision.

What about Fox news reporting lies? Betty what did you think of that!
