Obama's Back!

Photobucket All in all, I thought President Obama's speech was excellent.

And, the rebuttal speech by Republican Rep. Charles Boustany (R) Louisiana, was very helpful - NOT. It's central message? Start over. Scrap everything that has already been done and start all over again. Can you say, "stalling tactics, children?" One would think that Bobby Jindall's rebuttal to the State of the Union would have convinced the Republicans to look to some other state for the rebuttal to this one.

And then, as if South Carolina doesn't have enough to be ashamed of, Rep. Joe Miller (R) hauled off and called the President a liar. He apologized this morning, sorta. He said, and I'm paraphrasing, "The Republican leadership told me to apologize, so I apologize."

It looks very much as though the inmates have taken over the asylum.

Apparently Fox News didn't bother to carry the speech. Typical.

Maybe, now, the Democrats will get together and, finally, just go ahead and pass whatever they want, and let the Republicans whine all they want.

Stay tuned.

CORRECTION: Apparently one of Fox's entities carried the speech. My bad.

I thought his speech was good too. The republicans have to cause trouble, they don't know what else to do with themselves. Makes me think they've been taking acting lessons and want to give us a show about stupidity.

Fox should just rename itself RNN (republican news network)

have a good one, kiddo :)

I too enjoyed the president's speech on health care. Now if he would just get us out of Afghanistan instead of calling in more troops to be killed, as he had promised (in 13 months), I would be happier with him.

Agree. The speech was excellent, the Republicans? Not so much. Shallow and predictable, they were their usual rude, disrespectful selves—full of jealousy, loathing and hatred. It’s all they have. They have no positive vision for the future, no desire to see Americans and the United States of America progress. I think some form of healthcare reform will happen but it will not include any remedy for the disease that afflicts right-winger Teabagging loons.

Ooh, I like the fitting idea or renaming Fox to RNN. Thanks Looking to the Stars.
Each day brings a new surprise as to how far some have sunk. I keep looking into their eyes for a glimpse of caring and see none. Scary.
I agree that now maybe the Dems will circle the wagons and quit fighting among themselves.

I still have hope, but it is dimming. I don't think the Blue Dog Democrats were convinced, having taken all that money from the Insurance Industry.

We will get health care reform, but nothing like it should be. I hope I'm wrong.
