There's Snow on the Rooftop...........

......... but, there's still a fire in the furnace.

In my younger days, I was constantly falling in love with boys who were not likely to fall for me. I spent many hours mooning over one or another football star or BMOC (big man on campus).

I was never very impressed with the boys who showed an interest in me, nerds and geeks all, which resulted in lots of Saturday nights alone, washing my hair and yearning for Mr. Excitement.

With that kind of background, you'd think a woman my age would have put such childish things as crushes behind mer, wouldn't you? Apparently, that is not the case.

To my great surprise, after watching NCIS for years and feeling a pleasantly warm glow when Special Agent Jethro Leroy Gibbs is onscreen, I have realized, just this season, that he is actually much too old for me. Sorry Jethro. It was fun while it lasted.

Never one to look back, I have decided to follow in the spritely footsteps of Grannymar, with her stable of "toyboys". To that end, I have developed an enormous crush on much younger Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly). That pleasantly warm glow has become a raging conflagration.

I have heard of people experiencing a second childhood, but, a second adolescence? I think not. So, what is going on and why did it take me so long to realize this attraction?

The other day, I Googled Michael Weatherly and avidly read everything I could find about him, and gazed fondly at his photos. When I told Jay about my magnificent obsession (or is it a fatal attraction?), his eyebrows shot up to his hairline. Then, he chuckled. He listened to me go on and on about Michael for a couple of days and then asked, "Which one did you fall for? Was it Michael or Tony?"

I thought it over, and realized that it is really Tony that makes my heart go pitty-pat. He embodies every quality/fault I have ever fallen for in a man. He's tall, handsome, irreverent, funny, reckless yet vulnerable.......whew! Is it warm in here? And, unlike Michael, Tony isn't real.

So, here's the question: Is it just too creepy for a woman of my advanced years to fall so madly for a man young enough to be my, er, nephew? Is it ok that he's not real?

Or, does he simply send me on a trip down memory lane that leads to my happy place? Does he take me to a land where I can enjoy a rich fantasy life, where I am younger - and thinner?

Oh, heck! What could it hurt?

I LOVE Dinozzo..and I love Jethro too....am I too young for Jethro? Nah!
I always had a crush on Robert Mitchum as a little girl, he was one gorgeous man!
And, to answer your queston, you are never ever too old to have a crush or be in love with anyone... "love is in the air" :)

Ciao!
I sew Michael Weatherly in a real life... he's amazing!
He's a very cool guy, so funny and so pretty!

Definitly I love Michael Weatherly, not only DiNozzo.

I'm agree with Cazzie... "love is in the air" ;-)

Also love NCIS. Tony is darling but I wish he would not be so mean to McGee who is kind of every womans "good" son.

Gibbs, let the receeding hair line show and you will win me back.

I knew I had slipped over the edge and was no longer a "cougar" when I started lusting after Wishbone in the old Rawhide reruns. Yikes.

I realized I was getting older when I tuned in the Movie Channel and Nick Clooney looked better to me than George......Sigh!!!!

It doesn't hurt a thing!! and I do it regularly. A little imagination never hurt anyone, did it?

I have never been "in love" since my first love was revealed to me by his brother to be a two timer. That broke my heart...never to be repaired

I was 16

I do love. I'm just not "in love" with anyone.

It doesn't hurt a damn bit. If it did, all us ladies would be in big trouble.

I feel the same way about Christopher Meloni on Law & Order SVU. It's brooding, emotional Eliot who gets my heart racing. I'm sure Mr. Meloni is a wonderful guy, too.

And I love NCIS, too.

Oh, I am glad that I am not the only ___ year old adolescent~!!
=)
I had this thing for Anthony Quinn, and would "swoon"..(youngun's now looking up the word "swoon")
As for TV, I would guess that my fixation goes to James Scott as E.J. DiMera on Days of our Lives..
Woo hoo~!!

My toyboys are all real and at last count there were over 50!! My mother told me there was safety in numbers. ;)

They range in age from 14 to over 60 and are spread across the land. I met them through blogging, twitter and photo-walking. I am greeted with a hug and treated royally and with respect when we meet up.

I live aloe but with the internet they are never very far away.

It never hurts. I was so surprised when I read your blog, I was planning on doing a post on my dad's best friend whose picture always made my heart go pitty pat. Great minds always think a like and a womans heart will always go pitty pat for a hunk :)

The world would be a dreary place without fantasy. Go for it!

Gibbs is the reason I would never miss NCIS. I also have had a 'thing' about George Clooney ever since I saw him on ER many years ago. Rosemary must have been so proud of him.

Betty, fantasies don't hurt a thing....if they did, I'd be in deep doo-doo. I think everyone should have them...honest I do. Maybe some of us have more than others. Hey, I'd be willing to spread the wealth if need be. What are friends for. And if ever I should run out....now I know where to come....

Jethro is my guy. And he's too young for me -- he was born in
'51! It's okay -- I still think he's cute.

Fantasies are a good thing. Jethro makes my heart throb. Guess I'm strange - I like em older, like Sean Connery & James Garner. I like to think I'd be able to keep up with my heat throbs ;)

Everyone: I see I am not alone in my fantasies. I seem to be in good company. And, Grannymar, whose toyboys are all alive, I'll only say, it's not ladylike to brag. lol

BTW I'm bikehiebabe with picture but not here.

I'm in love with the young Barrack Obama, the young Jay Leno & Conan who was a hunk 17 years ago when he 1st came on the scene.

I'm still quite fond of Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Tony is cute, but does not make my heart go pitty-pat. Not to say that in years past I haven't had a yen or two for younger men. :) I may be old, but I'm not dead -- yet.
