Hear Her Roar

AP/Getty Images

I'm just so proud, I can hardly stand it. Nancy Pelosi is the first woman to hold the post of Speaker of the House. I believe and hope that she will do us proud. She has already gotten on my good side by announcing that Congress will be observing a 5-day work week, just like their constituents. Considering their pay and perks, we deserve to get a 40-hour week out of them.

Now, let's find a woman for President - and not necessarily Hillary Clinton. Surely there are worthy women out there who can handle the job. And, not Condi, either.

Interesting times.

I figure Ms. Pelosi's success or lack thereof will make or break Hillary's candidacy if she does run.

I'd be interested in hearing who others think would be a good candidate and why. Not too many prominant women testing the waters. One I really like but can't run because she was born Canadian is Gov. Granholm of Michigan.

think it's great that we have elected a woman Speaker of the House. Progress may be much slower than most would like, but this is a great day.

OK, I'm being cynical here, I wonder if she is being payed less than the last guy????

That is way cool!

Newt makes a good point though. ;)

It was very exciting, indeed. It should be interesting to watch in the coming 100 days. There was an article in our paper that the republicans are already complaining about being "bullied" by the democrats. Poor babies.
