Six Weird Things

I got tagged by Kell, so now I have to limit myself to naming only six weird things about myself. Let's see if I can narrow it down.

1. I cannot make myself just rinse my coffee cup and use it the next day. It has to go into the dishwasher as soon as I'm through with it. On the other hand, I can keep making coffee in the same pot every day for a week, and not worry about it at all.

2. I don't like to handle raw chicken or fish. And, I won't eat a fish that still has its head. I don't like coming eye to eye with my dinner.

3. I don't like to drive on the highway by myself, for fear of the car breaking down. This may have gotten a little better, now that I have a cell phone.

4. If I didn't have to go out for groceries every now and then, I would probably be perfectly happy never to leave the house. But, when there's snow and ice on the ground, I get in a panic because I can't get out.

5. I can't do any type of telephone solicitation. I usually start with, "You wouldn't want to buy........... would you?"

6. I invariably put off going to the doctor until the pharmacy puts a note on my prescription that the doctor would like to see me before my next refill. Drat!

I'm not going to tag anyone, because I think just about everybody has been tagged by now. And, this has to stop!

Argh! It ate my previous comment! What I'd said was:

I second the motion on #2.

That either makes your point about raw chicken and fish not weird or it means BOTH of us ARE weird.

It's likely the latter. Darn.

In these days and times even I can relate to the concern of highway driving and potential car problems. Especially since I am getting much, much older.

Last weekend I had to go to Texarkana on Saturday so on Friday I finally broke down and joined the "AAA" just so I would feel a litte more safer. I got to thinking...even though I have a cell phone, I don't have a clue who to call for assistance when I am out in the middle of nowhere. With limited family, they may not be available and that doesn't really solve the problem with my car stuck on in the middle of nowhere. I decided that $54 a year was worth the piece of mind.

Betty, I don't like to work with raw meat either. I guess I've seen all those programs about the bacteria one can be exposed to and spread all over. So I always have a sink full of bleach and water and I wash the counter, the knife, the cutting board, everything as I go.

I'm mostly a vegetarian for that reason as well as for the fact that eating far less meat than traditional in the U.S. is healthier for me and mine.

Clearly, I don't think your number 2 is weird. And I'm with you one 1, 4 and 5 too. Those aren't weird either :)

those were interesting. And I'm with ya on the raw meat, thing, too. And the driving. It makes me so nervous to drive out of town.

#1 - too funny. Now that you mentioned it I'm the same way. In fact I had a friend watch the house for a few days and he made a point to comment to us that he cleaned out our coffee pot. And I remember giving him a look like "Why would you do that?" yet you're right, the coffee mug gets replaced every day with a clean one.
