E - I - E - I - O ...

Now, the city fathers in Springfield, MO have agreed to allow people to have chickens in their yards.  What is WITH this chicken business?  Is it the latest version of "A chicken in every pot?"  You can have chickens, but no roosters. That's a relief.  I'm sure no-one wants to be awakened at the crack of dawn by the crowing of a rooster. A chick-chick here, a chick-chick there.........

What's next?  Maybe everyone would like to have fresh milk, so let's all get a cow.  But, does a cow have to have a calf before it will give milk?  A calf might be too much trouble, although it would be mighty cute. An would we need a bull, too?  With a moo-moo here and a moo-moo there........

And, oh yes, I'd like to make cheese from goat's milk.  Could I have a couple of goats?  Does a goat have to have kids before it can give milk?  Maa-maa here, etc.
 
Really, if I wanted to live on a farm, I would have moved to the country.
