I often claim to be cynical, and sometimes I am. But, I also have a tendency to take a person at his word until he proves otherwise. After watching Governor Chris Christie's long, long press conference the other morning, I commented, "He's good." By that, I meant that he's slick - and in Arkansas, we know "slick" when we see it. Bill Clinton leaps to mind. Remember the nickname, "Slick Willie?" I don't necessarily think that "slick" is a bad thing, in some cases.
But, Governor Chris Christie over played his hand. He needed to just shut up after about forty-five minutes. Methinks he doth protest too much. And because of this, Bridgegate is going to go on for a while, and things are going to get worse for him before they get better. Of COURSE he knew all about it! In spite of his denials, he is a bully. Probably always has been.
He should have asked for Slick Willie's advice.

Christie does not seem to grasp that actions speak louder than words. But in his case, his words often match his actions anyway.
I am a bit disappointed. I thought he was the one Republican with a bit more integrity. I hope I'm wrong when I question what he knew, when he knew. . .
He is Teddy Roosevelt! Bully pulpit kind of guy. I guess better than a wimp that can me pulled around by his nose.

As John Stewart pointed out, he's from NJ. That says it all. You don't get anywhere in Jersey by being a nice guy.
